Gaco Western WallFoam System 183

DESCRIPTION:

Gaco Western WallFoam 183 is an HFC blown (zero-ozone depleting) liquid spray system that cures to a low-density rigid polyurethane insulation material. Gaco WallFoam 183 contains material derived from naturally renewable resources and does not contain CFC’s, HCFC’s or other gases harmful to the environment. This system can be sprayed on clean, dry substrates down to 40°F (4.4°C). Refer to Gaco Western General Instructions, SG-GacoFoam for spraying instructions. Gaco WallFoam 183 is a class I fire rated foam.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:

To ensure optimum performance, a minimum pass thickness of 3/4” (1.9 cm) is recommended with the maximum not to exceed 2” (5.1 cm) per pass. For typical equipment settings, consult Gaco Western’s GacoFoam Spray Guide.

NOTE: Prior to specifying and installing a polyurethane foam interior insulation system, code officials should be consulted for recommendations and approvals. Although federal, local and state building codes vary, all require that polyurethane foam insulation be covered with an approved 15-minute fire barrier. One typically approved material, for example, is 1/2" (1 cm) gypsum wallboard. However, always check with local officials for recommendations and approvals. It is recommended that the approved thermal barrier be installed the same day the foam is applied.

All hot work, i.e. welding, torches and open flame work must be completed prior to installation of the polyurethane foam insulation. Smoking in the same area while the spray polyurethane foam insulation is being applied shall be strictly prohibited.
